Oracle Administrator

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for successful completion of installation, configuration and migration,

Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA and responsible for building/maintaining a test environment.

Implement new technologies and design changes.

Implement backup/restoration strategy for 24x7 operation support.

Apply patches/upgrades to maintain security level technical requirements.

Installation of Oracle software/database pre-requisites and Oracle database basic administration and latest features.

Rate databases using various tools such as SQL Loader, Import/Export and Data pump.

Capacity planning in terms of growth of database and automated file and storage management.

Availability management for databases and database resource management and task scheduling.

Scheduling database backups, taking logical backups & physical backups and implementing database security policy.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience in cloning using cold backup, hot-backup and RMAN backup.

Good knowledge of 11g/12c features as data pump, ASM and flash back recovery,

Experience in basic performance tuning and monitoring using various tools such as AWR,TKPROF and explain plan.

Working knowledge high availability solutions like Data Guard, RAC, OS clusters and basic to medium level administration of such environments.

Experience with database migration, installation, upgrades and patching and working on production systems.

Datacenter understanding and knowledge of other RDBMS is an added advantage.

Experience in PL/SQL and worked on ER diagrams and working knowledge on cluster ware.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Bachelor's degree from a recognized University.

OCA/OCP or equivalent certification.

Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
